Hello there,
Gosh busy bee time of year isn’t it? Just to add to the mix of the silly season my husband James (see below) turned 40 this past week, which we celebrated this weekend. I would like to say I’ve been creating lots of new healthy party food ideas to share with you but alas we had a 1970’s pool party theme for his birthday...so on the food front think cheese fondue, chocolate fondue, pineapple with cheese, old school prawn cocktails plus Bombe Alaska for dessert. Completely not my style of food but it’s amazing what one will do for love :).
Here are a few of the dishes I made on the night – no gluten free, paleo or sugar free here.
We’ve been surrounded by very generous friends and family the past few days and I would love to pass on some of that love with a 10% pre Christmas discount to you.
Just use the code XMAS. Offer expires Wednesday the 9th at Midnight.
The Joyful Table One of my favourite parts of my job is getting to know my customers. I have been fortunate to meet a beautiful woman named Susan Joy, who is the author of a gluten Free, grain free, paleo inspired recipe book called The Joyful Table.
– I just love the name. Sue is a mother to 3 and a grandmother to 3 grandchildren. If there was ever a person out there proving that you can turn over a new leaf in life and health at any age Sue is that person.
Sue discovered she had fatty liver disease and was also diagnosed with hashimotos, an autoimmune thyroid disease. She became inspired to reverse the fatty liver disease through her diet, which meant cutting out grains containing gluten, high carbohydrate foods like rice, corn, potatoes, sugar, high fructose corn syrup and processed food (very similar to a paleo diet). After 11 months of dedication and a new way of eating, Sue’s liver function readings came out normal for the first time in 6 years.
I am always inspired by people who can turn their health around through their lifestyle choices. You can read more about Sue and her journey on her website www.susanjoyfultable.com
Gluten Free Spinach and Feta Loaf
I am fortunate to be able to share one of Sue’s delicious recipes with you. I loved this Gluten Free Spinach and Feta loaf; it is really moist and keeps fresh for a good few days (especially in the fridge).
