Have you ever found yourself paralysed by busyness? You have so much to do that you have become completely unproductive because you feel overwhelmed. The pressure has caused your creative juices to dry up or you are sitting with writer’s block. On the flip side have you been out on run, at a gallery or in the car listening to your favourite song and suddenly you have a hit of inspired inspiration, the ideas are sparking, and you can’t wait to take action?
Let’s talk hustle and flow.
From a very young age most of us are taught that to achieve in life you must work hard – in fact the harder you work the more you achieve (sound familiar). I have subscribed to this societal and family value for most of my life. That was until I hit 40 and someone introduced me to a new paradigm of living. This new paradigm is not just about working hard and hustling for results, it is about that tapping into creativity, inspiration and fulfillment.
What if you could achieve more by doing less? Sounds like an oxymoron doesn’t it! Well, I have been unlearning the old ways of productivity and discovering the joy and effectiveness of working in a flow state. This is not to say there aren’t times to hustle, to dig deep and to work hard but I believe this must be balanced with flow.
